Richard Ernest Ferrero, 74 passed away on September 17, 2013 in Porterville, CA.

Richard was born October 12, 1938 in Porterville to Steve and Frances Ferrero.  A talented horseman and farmer, he spent his 74 years in this area. Richard attended Rockford Elementary School and Porterville High School. He played summer baseball in Poplar, and played baseball and football at PHS and played football for the PC Pirates.  He went on to a successful horse training career, training and showing stock horses and rope horses.

He left the show pen to return to the farm and raise his children just a couple of miles from where he grew up. After his kids were grown he enjoyed   raising and showing horses and   Border Collies. He enjoyed being outside and happily spent his last days among his favorite dogs and horses.

He is preceded in death by his parents Steve and Frances Ferrero.

He is survived by his beloved children, Ty Steven Ferrero of Porterville and Tanna Bobbi Dilday (Russell) of Wynnewood, OK, sister, Diana Vance (Tito), his partner Carie Bennett,  former wife  Mary Ann Foell Ferrero,  his aunt's Louise Bellezuoli of Hanford and Annie Dutto of Tulare.    He has 5 grandsons and 1 granddaughter, Dominic Ferrero, Aubriana Ferrero, Nico Ferrero, Colt Dilday, Ace Dilday and Cody Lee Smith. A Celebration of the life for one of Porterville's own sons, Richard Ernest Ferrero will be held on September 28 , 2013 at the Nuckols Ranch, 13144 Road 216, Porterville.
